DiS joins the Music Alliance Pact + May 2013's global MAP
compilation
May 18, 2013 7:56am | Drowned In Sound Drowned in Sound is very pleased to announce that we've taken over from The Guardian, as England's representative in a global network of bloggers who champion their country's local music scene known as the Music Alliance Pact (or MAP for short - see what they did there?). As you will see below, what this entails is once a month DiS submitting a track we recommend to a compilation that goes up on each blog who have also shared a choice. It's a great initiative and we're very pleased to be a part of it, as it's a fantastic way to champion the new music that we really love further afield, outside of the walls of DiS. Plus for you music loving readers, this means you are presented with oooodles of music from around the world to check out on a free(!) download compilation album. This will now be happening on DiS each month until they ask us to stop, so we hope you like it and let us know in the comments below if you discover anything interesting from the submissions from the rest of the network. For DiS' first submission, we suggested a name that is quite possibly familiar to a few of you. Tip: Click the play button icon to listen to individual songs, right-click on the song title to download an mp3, or grab a zip file of the full 36-track compilation through Ge.tt here. --- ENGLAND: Drowned In Sound Ghosting Season - Time Without Question (alternate version)
