In an interview with VEVO, Dream said, “IV Play is me jumping into the future and trying to leave the past behind. This album probably maintains about 25 percent of the fabric of what I

Watch The National Play Letterman
May 21, 2013 7:51am | StereoGum

The members of the National are gracefully-aging Midwestern-transplanted New Yorkers who wear suits a lot, and the same is also true of David Letterman. They’re a natural fit for one another. Today, the National release their grand and confident new album Trouble Will Find Me. And last night, they came through Letterman’s show, playing a dense and inward version of “Don’t Swallow The Cap” with a full complement of string and horn players, as well as Doveman’s Thomas Bartlett on keyboard. (Dave: “A lot going on there.”) Watch it below.

Only a year after their last release, San Diego rockers Crocodiles will be releasing a new LP titled Crimes of Passion on August 20th via Frenchkiss Records. Sune Rose Wagner assisted with the production duties on this release. “Cockroach” is serving as the first glimpse into the new release. The guitars punch on this cut with a ferocious combination of garage and surf rock trademarks. Stream and download the song below.

Premiere: stream the first 20 minutes of Kode9
May 21, 2013 7:12am | Fact Magazine

The latest mix CD in Rinse’s series comes from Hyperdub founder Kode9.

Although the mix’s closing section focuses on the footwork that has become an important part of Kode9′s sets in recent years, it’s the first 20 minutes that we keep coming back to. Kicking off with Burial’s ‘Truant’, it rolls through Theo Parrish’s ‘Kites on Pluto’, a breathtaking collaboration between Roses Gabor and Morgan Zarate titled ‘Pusher Taker’, Alex Parkin & Chris Lorenzo’s belting ‘What Must I Prove 2 U?’ and more. Oh, and watch out for DVA’s ‘Chilli Burrito’, which is completely batshit.

Released today, you can stream that first 20 minutes of Rinse 22 here at FACT. There’s also a stacked launch party this Friday, May 24, in London: for more on that, click here.

Portland’s Pure Bathing Culture, the duo of Daniel Hindman and keyboardist Sarah Versprille, have announced their forthcoming debut LP, Moon Tides, via Partisan Records (US)/Memphis Industries (UK). The album will follow-up their enjoyable self-titled EP from last year. The first single from the new release is “Pendulum.” There is something very familiar and comforting about the song, almost like a caress to the face with every listen. LIsten below.

Song : Badlands :
May 21, 2013 6:35am | My Old Kentucky Blog

You will not find a lot out their about the band Badlands, but their debut song “Sleeping Beauty” is good enough that I am sure this will not be the case for long. Entrancing vocals with longing lyrics (“Here forever, I’ll dream of you”), hazy guitars, piano, and a drum beat of so many great songs of old make this song hard to resist. It is a beautiful piece of pop that has us looking forward to more from this mysterious band. Stream and download the song below.

Listen: Joe Goddard collaborates with Mara Carlyle on new track
May 21, 2013 6:21am | The Line Of Best Fit

Hot Chip member and man behind one of the best, if not the best, dancefloor fillers in the past few years, Joe Goddard returns with another sublime team-up.

Following on from his solo outing with Valentina in the form of the aforementioned ‘Gabriel’, Goddard has unleashed this new number ‘She Burns’, with folk singer and arranger Mara Carlyle.

Bubbling under the surface with post-dub bass bursts and swirls, the producer perfectly compliments Carlyle’s emphatic tones. Take a listen to the track, set to feature on forthcoming EP Taking Over, below:

Premiere: stream Merky Ace
May 21, 2013 6:00am | Fact Magazine

Merky Ace, from London collective Family Tree, has been bubbling up for a while now. On May 27 he’ll drop All or Nothing, one of two mixtapes slated for release this year.

With production from Splurt Diablo, Faze Miyake, Rude Kid and more, All or Nothing feels much more like a full album that a mixtape, with Merky’s ear for hooks coming through, and the compromises to other genres – dubstep and trap, mostly – sounding natural rather than forced. Those looking for a quick fix, we’d recommend heading straight to ‘Wack’ or the moonlit ‘All or Nothing’, but it’s all pretty strong stuff here.
