Elephant & Castle feat. tUnE-YarDs En Memoria is so trippy, man
Feb 22, 2012 5:56pm | Chart Attack

If youve been hankering to relive your past psychedelic excursion into oblivion where you finally found out what people are made of (namely that we are all actually just CGI replicas of Gods image), then you might want to check out Elephant & Castles newest video for En Memoria.

The video is a festival of colors created using Lightwave, which is sort of about creation, but is also just an excuse for you and your friends to contemplate lyfe. The disembodied voice of tUnE-YarDs' leading lady Merrill Garbus accompanies the vibrant imagery, sounding like the voice of the Earth Mother herself as She shows you the secrets of the universe.

Experience the universe below:

2:54 Youre Early
Feb 22, 2012 4:24pm | StereoGum

The churning British BTW 2:54 landed on our radar in November thanks to their tracks “Scarlet” and “Got A Hold.” And judging by new single “You’re Early,” a swirling and soft dream-pop track with a surprisingly vicious low-end, they’re going to stay there. Listen to the track below; it’s well worth your four minutes.

Check Out Neko Cases Vermont Crib
Feb 22, 2012 4:13pm | StereoGum

Country Living recently did a photo shoot at Neko Case’s Vermont farm, a 100-acre property with a 225-year-old farm house in Vermont’s Green Mountains. A few notable things — mostly, Neko is paid, y’all — but there’s probably nothing more notable than the kitchen piano, which “she rescued from a nearby frat house” (but how will the fratters play the school fight song/select Coldplay covers now? Homecoming is ruined!) Head to Country Living to see the slideshow.

WATCH: A teaser clip for Odd Future's new Adult Swim show 'Loiter Squad' has surfaced!
Feb 22, 2012 4:01pm | Chart Attack

Whoever gave Odd Future a television show is either going to get very rich or very fired.

Loiter Squad is a sketch comedy series produced by Dickhouse Productions (of Jackass fame) for Adult Swim, and stars all members of the LA-based rap collective.

Below you can watch an 18-second teaser in which Tyler, the Creator (as his character Young Nigga) argues in hashtags with Domo Genesis in a courtroom. Its goofy and laced with expletives in typical OFWGKTA fashion. You should also watch Odd Future's insane/hilarious/offensive music video for "Rella," which premiered yesterday.

Loiter Squad premieres March 25th, which is also rapper Big Seans birthday! Coincidence? Yes.

Crystal Castles Ready Bleak New LP, Release Bleak New Video
Feb 22, 2012 3:54pm | CMJ

Electro-punk duo Crystal Castles has confirmed that its third album is currently in production and set for release this summer via Fiction/Universal.

This is the first time the band has been in the studio since its 2010 release, II. While the last album was partially recorded in Iceland, the duo from Toronto has now moved to Warsaw, Poland to craft its third LP. “We never do meaningless,” producer Ethan Kath told NME (via Pitchfork) in January. “Every song we write is bleak. We don’t want anything else.”

You can check out the bleak Ethan Kath directed video for “Suffocation” from II on the Vs. Magazine site. The video features singer Alice Glass looking very fashionable and sad in a bleak setting. You can also hear a remix of the track by L.A. noise dance punks HEALTH here.

Below, watch the bleak video for “Baptism,” also off of II.

MP3 ROUNDUP: Grimes, White Hills, Gold & Youth, Humans
Feb 22, 2012 3:39pm | Chart Attack

Grimes Angel

I thought it was impossible for things to be too short in a world of food tweets and kitten videos, but Angel, the bonus track from Grimes new album Visions, is too short. The wonderful piece of pop perfection is sweet while it lasts, which is less than 90 seconds. Insert sex joke.

White Hills Pads of Light

White Hills describe themselves as space rock, and on their new single its easy to see why. Pads of Light sounds like the battle cry of some alien warrior race that invades planets to harvest cigarettes and pool tables. But hey, if you cant beat em, join em; Frying on this Rock is out March 20.

HUMANS De Ciel

You might remember Vancouver electro duo HUMANS from their excellent music video for Bike Home, which stars two hard-partying, coke-snorting policepuppets. Theyve mellowed out a bit. On De Ciel, a restrained single from their forthcoming EP Traps, the Vancouver electro duo invites some serious head nodding. Fans of Junior Boys should be pleased.

Gold & Youth Time To Kill

Gold & Youth is the latest band to sign with Arts & Crafts, who apparently are all but completely overhauling their indie rock direction in favour of moodier acts like The Darcys, Eight and a Half, and Trust. Time To Kill is four-and-a-half minutes of dark electro minimalism that actually sounds like an even blend of all three ...

Mark McGuire & Charles Berlitz MR
Feb 22, 2012 3:31pm | StereoGum

Mark McGuire, guitarist for synth-droners Emeralds, has teamed up with Skaters’ Spencer Clarke, recording under his Charles Berlitz pseudonym, to release a new album called Inner Tube, which is already out. Below, check out the album track “MR,” named in honor of surf legend Mark Richards. It finds McGuire adding a certain buoyant bounce to his normal prettily ominous synthscapes.

Florence and the Machine to tour U.S., everywhere else
Feb 22, 2012 3:29pm | Chart Attack

Breakout British indie pop songstress Florence and the Machine expanded her bid for global conquest today by adding U.S. dates to her seemingly neverending tour. Will this be the tour where The Machine will finally show its face? If so, I expect that it will be a gruesome and horrifying spectacle that will probably look a lot like THIS, except the stadium will be filled with adoring, unarmed and defenseless fans.

If you're still willing to play games with your own mortality, visit the band's website to buy tickets. Just promise me one thing: when the lights dim and the band takes the stage, scream KANEDAAAAA instead of Woo! That would be funny.

Kreayshawn poops; details still emerging
Feb 22, 2012 3:16pm | Chart Attack

While details are only beginning to surface, it has been reported that Oakland-based female rapper Kreayshawn real name Natassia Gail Zolot poops.

The rising artist, known for her in-you-face music and I-dont-give-a-fuck attitude, was apparently very in-your-face about a recent poo she dropped in San Francisco hotel room on New Years Eve, and even more I-dont-give-a-fuck regarding details of said poo.

Prior to making boom-boom, Kreayshawn reportedly told GQ, I have to POOP. When asked whether or not feces were protruding from her anus colloquially known as prairie doggin Kreayshawn confirmed, then proceeded to poo.

Information about the consistency, quantity, and aftermath has not been released.

Below you can watch the I-dont-give-a-fuck music video for Gucci Gucci, Kreayshawns popular in-your-face single. The clip is nearing 32 million views on YouTube, and Kreayshawn has yet to release a studio album.
